Boyd Masterson Sr. NEW MADRID — Boyd F. Masterson Sr., 85, died Sept. 14, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in New Madrid. Born Dec. 25, 1925, in New Madrid, to the late Ott Masterson and Carrie Boyd Masterson Shaver, he was an aircraft mechanic for McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis until his retirement. He married Helen Louise Holman who survives of the home. Other survivors include: four sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Thelma Masterson of New Madrid, David and Barbie Masterson of Springfield, Ill., Charles and Barbara Masterson of Winfield and Boyd F. and Theresa Masterson Jr. of St. Charles; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen and John Swift of Wappapello; four stepchildren, Barbara Jean Ross, Brenda Slider, Alvin Smith and Arvid Smith of Texas; one sister, Edna Riley of New Madrid; and seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid where services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid.
