. Brent Smith NEW MADRID — Brent Alan Smith, 49, died Aug. 12, 2011, at his home. Born Nov. 14, 1961, in Terre Haute, Ind., he was the son of Max Smith of Indiana and the late Beverly Lanigan. On May 26, 2001, in Portageville, he married Melanie Padilla, and she survives of the home. In addition to his wife and father, other survivors include: one brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Michelle DeVore of Washington, Ill., and one sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Craig Molett of Orlando, Fla. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by an infant child. Services were conducted today at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid with the Rev. Dan Wisley officiating.
