Carl Barker
NEW MADRID - Carl D. Barker, 78, formerly of Portageville, died April 6, 2013, at his home in New Madrid.
Born Aug. 11, 1934, in Little Rock, Ark., to the late Sherman and Laura Barker, he worked at the Missouri State Highway Department in Portageville for 34 years and was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in New Madrid.
On June 19, 1960, at Morehouse, he married Wilma V. Hurley, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are: one daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Wimpy Henry of Lilbourn; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery and Andrea Barker of Holcomb; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, one sister, Mildred Day, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the First United Pentecostal Church in New Madrid, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. G.L. Keene will officiate.
Burial will follow at the Mounds Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Benji Henry, Michael Henry, Jacob Henry, Jeffery Barker, Austin Barker and Bradley Montgomery.
