Charles Reed PORTAGEVILLE — Charles Edward Reed, 59, died Oct. 13, 2012, at his home. Born June 19, 1953, on Portageville, to the late Arthur Reed Sr. and Odell Hamilton Reed, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had been a deputy with the Cape County Sheriff's Department. Survivors include: two sons, Charles Edward Reed Jr. of Cape Girardeau and Kevin Dewayne Reed of Scott City; one brother, Arthur Reed Jr. of Huntsville, Ala.; and one sister, Nellie Goodrich of Portageville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Saturday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid with the Rev. W.C. Norris Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Mason Cemetery at Point Pleasant.
