Clarence E. "Bud" Perry, 79, died Oct. 8, 2011, at his home in New Madrid.
He was born Feb. 23, 1932, in Farrenburg, to the late Clarence E. Perry Sr. and Florence Weaks Perry. Bud was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service, where he worked in the New Madrid Post Office for 28 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War, a member of the American Legion Post 595 and a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church in New Madrid.
On April 20, 1958, at Portageville, he married Shirley Phillips, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: two daughters and sons-in-law, Marsha and Ralph Palmer of New Madrid and Sharon and Mike Lathum of Memphis, Tenn.; four granddaughters, Morgan and Madison Lathum and Paige and Emilee Palmer; one brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Helen Perry of New Madrid; one sister and brotherin-law, Jeanne and Royal White of Jackson, Miss.; and special cousins, Dr. and Mrs. Jack (Nancy) Sheridan of St. Louis.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Perry.
Services were conducted today at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid with the Rev. Dale Ruddick officiating.
Burial followed in the Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid.
Pallbearers were: Ricky Ray, Scott Griffin, Russell Masterson, Dempsey Craft, Jim Henderson and Jim Harris.
