Clarence Dale "Doc" Poore passed away Feb. 3, 2014, at his home in New Madrid at the age of 71.
He was born June 29, 1942, in Maynard, Ark., to the late Dan and Mary Bemiss Poore.
In June 1970, he was united in marriage to Mary Ford Poore, who survives of the home.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and Cuba Missile Crisis serving in the U.S. Air Force. He retired as a general foreman at Noranda Aluminum after 30 years. He was a member of Eagles Aerie 4206 and American Legion Post 595 in New Madrid.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by: two daughters, Sonya Frazier of East Prairie and Terry (Jake) Kennedy of Bloomfield; one sister, Eugenia (Floyd) Halterman of Mountain Home, Ark.; three brothers, his twin brother Cloyce (Dorothy Leigh) Poore of New Madrid, Bemis (Doris) Poore of Maynard, Ark., and Lavon (Becky) Poore of Tulsa, Okla.; one stepson, Sam (Mary Lou) Ash of Marston; grandchildren Amber (Ben) Eakens of New Madrid, Christopher Moreland of Sikeston, Dustin (Morgan) Frazier and Stephanie (Jeffery) Walker of Van Buren; and great-grandchildren, Alexia, Jordan and Katie Creasy.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid, where services will be at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Travis Lambert will officiate with Curt Poore delivering the eulogy.
Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid.
Pallbearers will be: Howard Ed Crisler, Craig Hunter, Gary Rauls, Andy Carroll, Floyd Halterman Jr., Greg Halterman, Thad Poore, Mark Poore, William Thad Poore and Ralph Barnwell.
