Obituary

Dilmos Young was born Nov. 28, 1922 in Doublesprings, Ala. to Lizzie (Peppers) Young and Wiley Brantley Young. He died March 5th, 2013 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston at the age of 90 years, 3 months and 5 days. He entered into marriage on March 23, 1942 to Myrtle Ella Coleman who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his parents Brantley and Lizzie young; two sons, Billy Young and Welton Lee (Butch) Young; one daughter, Glenda Jean (Jennie) Young; five brothers, Coleman, Travis, Howard, Walter and Clovis; three sisters, Ola (Tookie) Chism, Ora Adams Townsend and Nora McVay. He is survived by one son, Samuel (and Angel) Young of Berthoud, Colorado; three daughters, Linda Sue (and Ronnie) Townsend of New Madrid, Sandy (and Frank) Berra of St. Louis, Shirley Lynn and Dickie Carden of East Prairie; one daughter-in-law, Willie Mae Young of New Madrid; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. He was a member of the New Madrid Baptist Church and also belonged to the Kiwanis Club. By trade he was a farmer, landscaper and car salesman. Visitation will be held at Richard's Funeral Home in New Madrid and the funeral service will take place at the New Madrid Baptist Church. Arrangement details are pending. Burial will follow at the Mounds Park Cemetery near Lilbourn with a meal following for family at the New Madrid Baptist Church. Richards Funeral Home of New Madrid is in charge of arrangements.
