Geneva Hunt, 76, passed away May 30, 2014, at Jefferson Regional Hospital in Poplar Bluff. She was born Nov. 25, 1937, in Wilson, Ark., to the late Willie and Mattie Thomas White. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 7183 in Lilbourn, PACE Group and S.0.A.P.S. On April 18, 1957, she married Samuel "Bo" Hunt who preceded her in death on Jan. 31, 2006. She was also preceded in death by one brother and one great-granddaughter. Survivors include: seven sons, Lemeul (Gwen) Hunt of Augusta, Ga., Anthony Hunt and George (Alicia) Hunt of Jacksonville, Fla., Samuel (Tondra) Hunt Jr. of St. Louis, Mark Hunt, David (Brenda) Hunt Sr. and Maurice Hunt of New Madrid; four daughters, Demetrius Pledger of Kansas City, Mo., Mavis Mason of Jacksonville, Jennifer Hunt of St. Louis and Manasseh Hunt of New Madrid; one brother-in-law, Narvelle (Rochelle) Hunt of Lorain, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Delores (Cecil) Thornton of Chicago; and 25 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid.
