James Hamilton LILBOURN — James Edward Hamilton, 87, died Oct. 7, 2012, at the Portageville Nursing Center. Born May 15, 1925, in Pontotoc, Miss., he was the son of the late Luther and Dessie Robbins Hamilton. On March 5, 1960, he married Carol Ervin, who survives of the home. Other survivors include: three sons, James Ernest Hamilton and Paul Hamilton of Lilbourn and Pete Hamilton of Evans, Ga.; two sisters, Wilma Stanley of New Madrid and Gladys Kennedy of Rector, Ark.; two brothers, Loyd Hamilton of the state of Louisiana and A.C. Hamilton of Portageville; and one granddaughter, Amanda Hamilton. He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Richards Funeral Home in Lilbourn, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Travis Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in the Mounds Park Cemetery in Lilbourn.
