Jerry W. Jeffords, age 66, passed away on October 30, 2026, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri.
He was born on April 26, 1960, to the late William and Gloria Farrar Jeffords. On April 4, 1980, in Marston, Missouri, he married Theresa Hunt Jeffords, who survives of the home.
Also surviving are two sons, Matthew Jeffords and his wife, Crystal, of New Madrid, Missouri, and Nicholas Jeffords of Clifton, Arizona; two brothers, Mike Jeffords of Alabama and Tommy Jeffords of Sikeston, Missouri; four sisters, Cecelia Peacock of Neptune Beach, Florida, Theresa Butler of Pensacola, Florida, Debbie Reed of Alabama, and Gail Garrett of Arlington, Texas; four grandchildren, Dylan Jeffords of Maryville, Missouri, and Bradley, William, and Aleczander Jeffords of Clifton, Arizona; and one great-grandchild, Isla Jeffords of Maryville, Missouri.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by two brothers, Roger Jeffords and Billy Jeffords.
Jerry enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was an amazing Pawpaw who loved playing board games, baking pineapple upside-down cakes, and playing catch with his grandchildren.
Most mornings, Jerry could be found on his front porch with a hot cup of coffee, waiting for the sunrise. A cowboy at heart, he loved the Wild West and could often be found quoting John Wayne or watching Gunsmoke.
Jerry always made time for long conversations and storytelling, often laughing as he recalled his past shenanigans. He will be remembered for his big heart and his outgoing, rambunctious personality. He never met a stranger and made new friends wherever life took him. In the words of his favorite movie, It’s a Wonderful Life, “No man is a failure who has friends.”
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Chapel in New Madrid, Missouri. Pastor G. L. Keene of Riverbend Pentecostal Church in New Madrid will officiate. Burial will follow at Mounds Cemetery in New Madrid.
