Johnny McWhirter NEW MADRID — Johnny Ray McWhirter, 55, died Nov. 22, 2012, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Born Oct. 12, 1957, in Chicago, to the late Billy Ray and Zula Inez Davidson McWhirter, he retired as chief dispatcher for the New Madrid County Sheriff's Department and had been a member of the Eagles Aerie No. 4206 in New Madrid. One brother, Kenneth McWhirter, also preceded him in death in 1985. On Oct. 2, 1997, he married Michele J. Carrell who survives of the home. Other survivors include: one daughter, Kristen McWhirter of the home; and two sisters, Deborah McWhirter and Virginia Borel. Visitation is scheduled from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid with the Rev. Shane Williams officiating. The family requests casual attire, please.
