Juanita Colwell NEW MADRID — Juanita Colwell, 91, passed from this life Feb. 19, 2014, at her home. Born Aug. 17, 1922, in Center Ridge, Ark, to the late Simon and Ella Mae Polk Etheridge, she was a member of the Church of Christ in New Madrid. She was married to D.O. "Doc" Colwell for 44 years. He preceded her in death July 12, 1982. Also preceding her in death was a beloved son, James C. "Jimmy" Colwell, one brother, Farrell Etheridge, and one sister, Minnie Warren. Survivors include: two grandsons, Tracy (and Angie) Colwell of Tallahassee, Fla., and Timmy (and Jenn) Colwell of Widby Island, Wash.; four great-grandsons, Keenan Colwell, Kalen Colwell, Ethan Colwell and Christopher Colwell; two half sisters, Loretta (and James) Criss and Linda Jones of Cement City, Mich.; and one daughter-in-law, Betty Jo Colwell of Sikeston. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid with ministers Ed Thomason, Bobby Harris and Jay Lyles officiating. Burial will follow at the Mounds Park Cemetery.
