Leonia Jones, 101, died Nov. 2, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in New Madrid.
Born Nov. 25, 1909, in Holmes County, Miss., to the late Bunk and Bertha Gaston, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Catron where she served as an usher and Sunday school treasurer.
She was married to Edmond Jones Sr., and he preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, one son-in-law, three sisters, two brothers and one grandson.
Survivors include: four sons and two daughters-in-law, Billy Allen and Mary Terry of Pickens, Miss. and Jesse and Dorothy Jones of Chicago, John Walter Jones of Catron and Edmond Jones Jr. of New Madrid; two daughters and a son-in-law, Bernice Pride of Catron and Julia and Willie Peoples of Gary, Ind.; 19 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Catron with the Rev. William Woods officiating.
Burial will follow in the Simmons-Park Cemetery in Catron.
Richards Funeral Home of New Madrid is in charge of arrangements.
