NEW MADRID — Lonie Catherine "Kay" Middleton passed away March 26, 2015, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston at the age of 77 years. She was born April 6, 1937, in Henderson County, Tenn., to the late Walter and Ollie May Greenway Middleton. Survivors include: one daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Jimmy Henderson of New Madrid; two sons, James Jr. and Randy Burton of Morehouse; four sisters, Mae Wheatley, Wanda Gardner, Mary Gardner and Kathy Middleton; two brothers, Johnnie Harold Middleton and Ronnie Middleton; seven grandchildren, Lacy Hailey, Amanda Wicker, Randy Lee Burton, Angelia Perry, James Lynn Burton, Renee Burton and Brandy Burton; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Scott, Sean and Melissa Woods; four sisters; and two brothers. Lonie was an avid reader, loved gardening and in 2011 was acknowledged by the City of Morehouse for her untiring work at the Community Center during the flood. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery at New Madrid.
