Loretta Thorn LILBOURN — Loretta W. Thorn, 81, died July 4, 2011, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Born Dec. 14, 1929, in Greenbriar, to the late Linus and Nina Christine Stortz Green, she was a member of the General Baptist Church in Lilbourn. On Dec. 27, 1951, in Piggott, Ark., she married R.B. Thorn who survives of the home. Other survivors include: three daughters and one son-in-law, Jeannie Thorn and Anetta and Terry Courtois of Lilbourn and Nina Cumins of Risco; three sisters, Jeannette Creason of St. Charles, Geraldine Strange of DeSoto and Brenda Green of St. Louis; five brothers, Eldon Green and Randy Green of St. Louis, Junior Green of DeSoto, Dennis Green of Imperial and Richard Green of Crystal City; and six grandchildren, Bridgett Porter, Joe Courtois, Joseph Thorn, Marc Thorn, Jami Irvan and Matthew Cumins; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. today at the Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid. Services are planned for 1 p.m. Thursday at the General Baptist Church in Lilbourn with the Rev. Travis Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in the Mounds Park Cemetery.
