Obituary

Mahlon "M.L." Bailey, 92, died June 28, 2014, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Born May 20, 1922, in Limeston County, Ala., to the late Erskin and Lucille Walker Bailey, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II. On Aug. 15, 1944, he married Roxie Mae Hailey, who preceded him in death on July 17, 2011. He was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Survivors include: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Leroy Bailey of Portageville, Dennis and Carolyn Bailey of New Madrid and David and Tina Bailey of Good Spring, Tenn.; three daughters and a son-in-law, Gail and Tom Sanders of Arlington, Texas, Judy Delrosa of Cape Girardeau and Debra Ash of Scott City; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Richards Funeral Home  in New Madrid with Frank Townsend officiating. Burial will follow in the Mounds Park Cemetery.
