Mamie Alice Harris was born July 1, 1919 in Lamar, Arkansas. The daughter of Rufus Ewell Pearson and Viola May Pearson. She passed from this life May 26, 2012 at the age of 92. She married Chester A. Harris December 15, 1934 in Clarksville, Arkansas, a marriage which spanned 55 years. She is survived by three sons; Ernest and Pat Harris of Sikeston, Missouri, Bobby and Shirley Harris of Batesville, Arkansas, Gerald and Becky Harris of Rogers, Arkansas, One sister Mildred Carter of Mathews, Missouri, one brother Namon Pearson of Sikeston, Missouri, 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, three great- great grandchildren, one great-great-great grandchild. Many nephews and nieces other relatives and many good friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Chester, a brother Ira Pearson and one sister Erla Dean Sullivan and a great grandson Kyle Harris of Mississippi. Pallbearers will be Grandsons Visitation will be held tonight Monday May 28, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. The Funeral will be held Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid with the Rev. Ed Thomason officiating. Burial will follow in Mounds Park Cemetery. Richards Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
