Mildred Carter MATTHEWS — Mildred Irene Carter, 94, died Oct. 7, 2012, at the Close to Homer Care Center in Matthews. She was born March 31, 1917, in Clarksville, Ark., to the late Ewell and May Russell Pearson. Survivors include: one son, Ray Carter of St. Louis; one brother, Namon Pearson of Sikeston; two grandsons and their spouses, Brian and Sabrina Carter and Mike and Shannon Carter; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one infant daughter, one brother and two sisters. Visitation is from noon until time of services at 2 p.m. Friday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid. Burial will follow in the Mounds Park Cemetery in Lilbourn.
