'Collie' Crouthers LILBOURN, Mo. — Paul C. "Collie" Crouthers passed away Feb. 7, 2017, at Cypress Point Nursing Center in Dexter at the age of 83 years. He was born Jan. 27, 1934, in Cooter, to the late Paul Burwell and Illa Biller Crouthers. He was a lifelong farmer in New Madrid County, having owned and operated Crouthers Farms. On Dec. 20, 1953, he married June Downing, who preceded him in death on June 26, 2016. Survivors include: two sons, Paul C. "Kippy" Crouthers and family of Lilbourn and David A. and Jo Crouthers and family of Catron; one sister, Emily Crouthers Blanton; four grandchildren, Daniel Crouthers, Andrew Crouthers (Rachel), Brittany (Eric) Nichols and Alicia Crouthers; two stepgrandchildren, Chrisi Hodges and Katy (Donald) Hart; six great-grandchildren, Hannah Crouthers, Rebecca Crouthers, Claire Crouthers, Andrew R. Crouthers, Sarah Crouthers and Emery Nichols; and six great-stepgrandchildren, Lyndzi Hart, Donald Hart, Deanna Hart, Maggie Langley, Patrick Hodges and Peyton Hodges. He was preceded in death by one brother, James B. "Buddy" Crouthers; and one sister, Margaret Noe. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid, where services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Methodist Church in Lilbourn. Eric Mattson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mounds Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Eric Nichols, Donald Hart, Mark Williams, Brad Williams, Daniel Crouthers and Andrew Crouthers.
