R.B. Thorn LILBOURN — R.B. Thorn, 81, passed away at his home in Lilbourn on May 12, 2012. Born May 28, 1930, in Blytheville, Ark., to the late William Shelby and Effie May Buress Thorn, he was a member of the General Baptist Church in Lilbourn. On Dec. 27, 1951, in Piggot, Ark., he married Loretta Green, who preceded him in death on July 4, 2011. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Survivors include: three daughters and one son-in-law, Jeannie Thorn  and Annetta and Terry Courtois of Lilbourn and Nina Cummins of Risco; one son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie and wife Rita Thorn of Park Hills; six grandchildren, Bridget Porter, Joe Courtois, Joseph Thorn, Marc Thorn, Jami Irvan and Matthew Cummins; and seven great-grandchildren, Garrett McKay, Julian Courtois, Ella Courtois, Lilly Thorn, Colt Thorn, Jacob Irvan and Sophi Irvan. Funeral services were conducted today at the General Baptist Church in Lilbourn with the Rev. Travis Lambert officiating. Burial followed in Mounds Park Cemetery in Lilbourn with Richards Funeral Home of New Madrid in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were his grandsons Joseph Thorn, Joe Courtois, Marc Thorn, Matthew Cummins; great-grandson, Garrett McKay; and grandson-in-law, Michael Irvan. Honorary pallbearers were: Joe Porter and Lynn Atchley.
