Ruth Valree Alsobrook NEW MADRID — Ruth Valree Alsobrook, 88, died June 29, 2011, at her home in New Madrid. Born Sept. 22, 1922, in Morley, daughter of the late Robert O. and Lillie L. Bynum Minner, she was a retired telephone operator with Southwestern Bell and member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Madrid. On Jan. 26, 1947, in New Madrid, she married C.B. Alsobrook Jr., who preceded her in death in 1995. Survivors include: three sons and a daughter-in-law, C.B. and Sue Alsobrook III of Akron, Ohio, and David Alsobrook and Tom Alsobrook of New Madrid; and two daughters and a son-in-law, Jeanne and Brent Shanks of Sikeston and Cynthia Nix of Ocean Springs, Miss. ; and four grandchildren and two-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Richards Funeral Home in New Madrid. The  rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Madrid with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
