Obituary

Timothy Allen Fowler

Timothy "Timmy" Allen Fowler, 69, passed away surrounded by his loving family at The Riverhouse in Van Buren, Missouri, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.

Tim was born on July 25, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri, to the late Alex and Evelena Fowler. He was raised in Kewanee, Missouri, and graduated from New Madrid High School with the Class of 1974.

After graduation, Tim spent many years farming alongside his father and brothers before operating his own farming operation, while also working for Mrs. Shirley Perry Realty, for a few years. In recognition of his dedication to agriculture, Tim was honored with the E.B. Gee Farming Cooperation Outstanding Farmer Award in 1988. Later, he began a career as a salesman with Delta New Holland in Charleston, Missouri, where he enjoyed serving the farming community he loved.

On July 11, 1980, Tim married his beloved wife, Lynette Porter, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Madrid. Together they shared 46 years of marriage and were blessed with three daughters: Sarah, Allison, and Caroline. His girls were the pride and joy of his life. There was nothing he wouldn't do for them, and he spent a lifetime loving, encouraging, supporting, and showing up for them through every stage of life. Tim's greatest joy only grew with the arrival of his beloved grandchildren, Elizabeth Jane and Walter Ezell, who lovingly knew him as "Poppie." He absolutely adored them, treasured every moment they spent together, and found endless happiness in spoiling them. Whether it was letting them "clean out Poppie's truck" in search of loose change and hidden treasures or simply making them laugh, they brought out the very best in him.

A faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Tim was actively involved in parish life and generously supported countless church fundraisers and events. He proudly served as Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus for several years. He also dedicated many years to Relay for Life and the Multiple Sclerosis Walk, using his own battle with Multiple Sclerosis to inspire others. Though MS presented many challenges, Tim faced each day with remarkable strength, determination, and unwavering faith, never allowing the disease to define him.

Tim was happiest outdoors. Whether coaching his daughters' youth softball teams, coaching the Immaculate Conception girls' basketball team, or driving "across the levee" to check on the bean fields; rain, shine, or even through the mud, he found joy in simple moments. He never went anywhere without a cooler full of sodas in the back of his truck, always ready to offer one to anyone he met. He loved chocolate, enjoyed teasing those he loved with a few silly words, and was always thinking of the next project for his daughters and sons-in-law.

Above all, Tim had a servant's heart. He was the kind of man who would gladly help anyone in need, often putting others before himself.

He is survived by his wife, Lynette Porter Fowler; his daughters, Sarah and her husband, Kyle Ezell; Allison and her husband, Chuck Langley; and Caroline Fowler and her fiancé, Anthony Miller; his cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth Jane Ezell and Walter Fowler Ezell; his bonus grandson, Jonathan Langley; his bonus great-grandson, JonLuke Langley; his brother, Randy and his wife, Emma Fowler; his brothers-in-law, Joseph Porter, Erwin Porter, and Edward Porter; his sisters-in-law, Patty Frye and Anita Hunter; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex and Evelena Fowler; an infant child; his brother, Joey Fowler; his sister, Cathy McCoy; his parents-in-law, Cyrus and Harriet Porter; his brother-in-law, Michael Porter; and his sisters-in-law, Carolyn Porter Allred and Kay Porter Kirk.

Pallbearers will be Walter Ezell, Kyle Ezell, Chuck Langley, Anthony Miller, Chippy Porter, Robert Frye, John Kirk, Reese Porter, Tommy McCoy, Terry McCoy, and Terry Alexander.

Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Fowler, Joseph Porter, Edward Porter, Rand Amick, Timmy Farrenburg, Carl Meredith, Kevin Carlisle, Lee Minehart, Justin Ling and Joe Recker.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic School, a ministry that held a special place in Tim's heart. All three of his daughters attended the school, and his grandchildren now continue that tradition. Supporting ICS brought him great joy, and memorial gifts made in his honor will continue the legacy of faith and service he cherished.

Tim will be remembered for his unwavering faith, servant's heart, quiet strength, generous spirit, and the love he poured into his family, his church, and everyone fortunate enough to know him.
