Virginia Recker, 96, passed away Dec. 7, 2014, at the Golden Living Center.
Born Nov. 30, 1918, in New Madrid, to the late John L. and Birdie St. Mary Ransburgh, she was a member of the the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of New Madrid and a member of the church's choir. She was also a member of the New Madrid Country Club, past member of the New Madrid Women's Club and for many years was on the Democratic Committee.
On June 3, 1939, she married Lewis H. Recker who preceded her in death Aug. 19, 1990.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, William A. Recker and Welton E. Recker, one granddaughter, Morgan A. Recker, and eight brothers and sisters.
Survivors include: three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sally English of Darien, Ill., Karen and Richard Serman of Puyallup, Wash., and Virginia Sue and Bill Ringer of Parsons, Tenn.; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Lewis H. Recker of New Madrid and Robert Edward and Monique Recker of Jacksonville, Fla.; and 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted today at the Immaculate Conception Church in New Madrid.
Burial followed in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: John English, James English, Joseph Recker, Lewis Recker III, Benjamin Recker, Louis Ringer III and Robert Recker.
